TED

I love Geek Nights. They provide me with links to some of the coolest stuff on the internets. Seriously. Not just funny stuff, like my previous post, but really informative things. Like TED. TED, short for Technology Entertainment Design, is a conference held in California, where some of the smartest people in the world share their ideas. These speeches/presentations are recorded and put on the internet.

I can't begin to tell you how really cool these presentations are. You don't need to be super smart to understand what the speakers are saying, they present in a way, that anyone with junior high intelligence can understand.

Anyways, I'll link some of the cooler speeches I've listened to so far:
**Note** Some of these presentations average 10-20 mins, but it's well worth it.

Vilayanur Ramachandran: A journey to the center of your mind

Bill Clinton: TED Prize wish: Let's build a health care system in Rwanda

Larry Lessig: How creativity is being strangled by the law

What's great is I get to actually listen/watch this stuff at work! It's not blocked! So I plan on listening/watching many of the talks on this website.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Baby Jesus is a better cleric!

This has been posted in the Geek Nights forums. I'm pretty sure Chris will be only seeing this, but I know you'll enjoy it. They have some of the best lines.

"Frankincense of eternal flame!"

You should also look at the response videos. Brilliant! XD

updates, moving, and computers: OH MY!

Holy poop on a stick, it's been since June 20th since I've updated. Sorry. -_- As my usual excuse, I was either lazy or busy, or both.

Anyways, life is going pretty darn great now. Had a very busy last few months, let's see if I can give a brief overview:

June: I can't remember anything special.
July: My 1 year anniversary with Jeremy, went to a Linkin Park concert, move in with Jeremy and lived in Kent.
August: PAX 07. That was probably one of the best conventions I've been to in a long time. Mind you, Sakura Con is fun, but PAX is just an experience of awesomeness. If you read PA and their posts about PAX, it was pretty much spot on. I look forward to attending PAX 08. And for a lil' something something to show how cool PAX was, this came in the goody bags:

September: Justin Timberlake Concert! *sigh* Yes, I am a girl. I love boy bands. Well probably "loved". I don't think I can get into any new boy bands, but Justin Timberlake = my #1 on my "Free 5". He maybe not much an actor, but imo, he's a great singer, dance, musician, entertainer. Went with my best friend and another friend. It was good times. Thank goodness I brought the earplugs to drown out the screaming fangirls.

Recent: Jeremy lost his job as the supervisor maintenance technician (09/27/07), which meant we had only a few days to find a new place according to the contract of being terminated. I cannot expresss how stressful that week was. We got extended to stay a week at our aparement in Kent, in hopes to look for a new place because it is almost impossible to find a new place towards the end of the month. Most available units are already taken and ready to be moved into. We were pretty much at the point where we were gonna move our stuff to my parents garage and live with my parents for a few weeks, however, Jeremy found a new job as a Lead Maintenance Tech for an apartment complex in Federal Way. So now, I live in Federal Way. The apartment is bigger, but we pretty much pay the same amount in rent. So far, I am enjoying the new place, the commute is shorter by 15 minutes to work. We are a lot closer to certain conveniences: grocery store, food, etc, except for movie theater. Only thing that kinda sucks, is that the cats have to stay inside because we live on a 2nd floor unit. I'm not a big fan of cat litter and the smell, but it's not too bad. Also either the celing/floors are thing or our upstairs neighbor steps like a fucking giant. And when he does walk, it's like between 12AM - 2AM in the morning. For now, I am enjoying the new place.

At the same time Jeremy lost his job, I was planning on buying a new computer. I've been researching it for a few months and have been listening to Geek Nights and their podcasts about "Buying a New Computer". It informed me about a lot of things I never knew about computers, and I feel a bit smarter from it. But it was past due for me to get a new computer. I've recently gotten back into playing WoW on a frequent basis. Jeremy made 2 toons on my account and man, oh mans, is he addicted. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. I needed a new computer because I planned on Jeremy getting his own WoW account and transferring his characters over. Also my computer is too slow for my preference. Also I like to download a crap ton of stuff. Having a 60 gig hard drive pretty much limits that. So after researching many prices and consulting with a friend, I went to a local store and had a computer built for around $1K. Oh man, how I love my new computer. Here are some of the specs:

Mobo: Asus M2N-E nForce 570 Ultra AMD (AM2)
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 5200+ 2.6GHz (AM2)
RAM: 2 gigs
Video Card: EVGA 256-P2-N761-AR GF GeForce 8600GTS 256MB PCI Express
Hard Drive: 2 SATA HDs (80 gig & 250 gig)
DVD/CD player
DVD/CD burner
Case: Antec Sonata III case w/ 500w power supply

I can really see the difference in performance my new computer. I am in love with it. I was happy when I realized how I can easily put my old & new computer on a network and transfer my files, settings, and especially my iTunes library to the new computer. Right now I'm running XP, but I keep hearing about Linux & Ubuntu. I am very curious to try out Linux, but at the same time leary, because I'm so used to XP, I use it at home and at work, and I'm also lazy. But I hear how much Linux doesn't mess up as much as XP, plus it uses less memory. I especially get Linux pushed by me at the Geek Nights forums. One day. We'll see. I also finally put Firefox on my new computer. Holy shit, what was I thinking using IE. Firefox = love. So now Jeremy & I play WoW together. I try not to play too much, but I'm slowly but surely getting my main toon to level 70 and might actually get some endgame going on. I mostly just quest with Jeremy and try to teach him a few things or two.

So yeah, that's pretty much my life right now. Still trying to finish unpacking the apartment, enjoying the new apartment, and what not. I've been living together with Jeremy for almost 3 months. It's been a bumpy ride, but overall I am loving it and very happy. Only thing I need now, is a dog, but that won't happen anytime soon.

Podcasts

For a while now, I've been an avid fan girl of listening to a Podcast on Harry Potter called MuggleCast. They update weekly on Sunday and it's basically a bunch of young peoples that just talk about anything Harry Potter. I've been listening to them since last September and am absolutely in love with them. If anything they are the main reason I became such a big HP fan girl. They honestly have really good discussion and theories about the HP world and predicitons of what is to come in Deathly Hallows. They are based out of the website MuggleNet. This is a website all done by fans, originally created by a teenager and ran by teenagers for most part. It's an amazing site with tons of great links and info. But anyways, the podcast is pretty cool and has kept me very entertained at work and has given me new ideas and insight about Harry Potter and whatever.

Recently I was pointed in the direct of a new podcast called Geek Nights. I found it from a blog post from Anath of Apple Geeks. This is podcast done by two guys, Scott & Rym that talk about anything along the geek spectrum. They basically do 4 podcasts a week, Monday is Science/Technology, Tuesday is Gaming, Wednesday is Anime/Comics, and Thursday is a open discussion. I got lasts week's episodes to try them out.

and man...

This podcast is awesome. I could not stop laughing and be entertained by these guys. They are absolutely hilarious and I can not talk enough about how awesome this podcast is. If you haven't heard of them, you need to go download their shit and listen to them. I then started downloading more episodes, one anime one that goes over Revolutionarly Girl Utena, which is one of the best episodes I've listened to. If you've seen this series, you need to listen to their podcast, because the way they desribe and review it, hits the nail on the head and makes you "lol" all the way through.

I really look forward to listening through their archives. But yeah go get it!

And if you listen to other podcasts, what do you listen to? I'm curious to know and see what else is out there.

me = phantom poster!

Yeah it's been over a month since I have posted anything. It's not that I'm extremely busy, although I have been busy, and it's not that I suck, it's just that I'm that darn lazy. :P

No, seriously, my time at work and usage of the internets has become more limited, not because my work blocks me from certain websites, but the fact that my work keeps me actually fairly occupied, which is good.

So how are things, you say?

Well things are going well. Can't believe it's already June. Man, next month I will be moving in with Jeremy. I'm very excited. It's really getting old having to leave his place late at night during the weekdays that I do see him, when I'd rather just pass out in his bed, or always having to pack stuff to go hang out for the weekend etc. It will be nice having someone to hang out with on weekday evenings to just do whatever. From going out to the movies, playing some WoW TCG, or just vegging in front of the tv, just having that sort of company is something I have honestly missed over these past few months. Mind you, I do enjoy living on my own. I'm happy that I have finally experienced it for almost a good year. I feel most, if not all people should experience it. At least it makes me feel accomplished to know I can live on my own. Never thought I'd see the day. Heh.

I've gotten back into working out regularly. Especially at work. Having a very sendintary job makes it hard to make sure you get some exercise in, however a few coworkers and myself have found ways around this. During our breaks we climb stairs and during my lunch I go to the gym here and go on the cross trainer for a 15-20 mins then work out on the weights. I want to lose 20-30 more lbs and I'll be happy with myself. I'll be honest, my diet hasn't been the best. I've started going back to old habits which is very very bad, so I'm changing it again and making sure that I'm eating better. So let's just hope I can keep with it! ^_^

I've also beeing playing more WoW, the MMO that is. With playing the TCG with Jeremy, there has been a lingering feeling, a yearning to get back into the MMO, to finally see the new content. I'm happy I got back into it, however I'm still not, nor do I plan to play as much as I once did. I'll play whenever I feel like it, but if something else comes up or Jeremy wants to hang out, I'd rather do that. Yeah and now Jeremy is intrigued to play the MMO. I told him that if he does play, I don't want our lives to revolve around it. So I think I'll let him try out a new toon on my account and just get a new account, however we will definitely need to get a new computer for it. His puter is so not compatible for playing an MMO.

Also with WoW, the TCG has really gotten me hooked to it. We've been going weekly tournaments to a really cool new shop in Spanaway called House of Flying Monkeys. The store owners are awesome and it's a really fun, although, small place to hang out. But yeah Jeremy is really into it more than I am, however we do plan on going to the upcoming Regionals tournament and hoping to do well there. Yes, I'm a CCG geek/nerd now. I even go to their forums to look up an converse with other WoW TCG players to talk about strategy, decks, etc. Never thought I'd see this day. ^^;;

Movies. Geez so many good movies this year. However, Spiderman 3 was poop. I was pretty pissed after I saw it. I won't go into details, I'm sure many others have explained why they didn't like it, and more than likely I agree with it. Pirates was very enjoyable, the ending was a bit sad for me, but still good. Shrek was good. Not as good as the first 2, however having Justin Timberlake be a voice actor on there, made the experience enjoyable. ^^ =P Going to buy Harry Potter OOTP tickets for IMAX on Monday. Now this movie, is probably the #1 movie I have been eagerly anticipating to watch for 2007. Since Order of the Phoenix is so far my favorite book of the series, I keep watching the trailers over and over again and looking at still shots from mugglenet and listening to old podcasts from Mugglecast. I've heard a lot about the movie, and even though I know there is gonna be a lot of stuff from the book not in the movie, I really do hope that the movie will be really good. Also the last 20 mins the movie will be in 3D at IMAX, which means a it's gonna be awesome. I won't give spoilers, but just imagine the various scenes at the Ministry of Magic in 3D.. ZOMG! SQUEE!

In regards to Harry Potter, I'm currently rereading book 6. I'm actually on time. I should finish book 6 before the end of the month and pick up this book made by the creators of Mugglenet called "What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7". Looks pretty intriguing. It's actually a best seller, and it's just cool it's written by fans who are our age if not younger. Well actually younger. Like 18-20 year olds. Yeah that's not my age. In fact I'm 27. Gah! May 23rd was my bday. I'm not into being all big in anouncing my bday, but it was a good bday. I got a digital camera w/ docking station/printer from my parents, and Jeremy got me a really kick ass Serenity poster that is movie theater quality, that's double sided, the type you put in a lighted case. Pic included: ^^

Isn't it purdy?

But yes it was quite a pleasant birthday. I'm just a bit freaked at being 27. I know I'm still young, but damn, 3 years till 30. >.< Not looking forward to that. And what's even worse, my marital biological clock is ticking. Not that I'm really hinting it or telling Jeremy. I'm gonna let it go with the flow with him. Things are going very well with him, but part of me is getting the wedding bell itch. Damn womanish tendencies. But anyways...

Oh yeah movies still. Looking forward to seeing Transformers. I'm just going in expecting really cool special effects and action. Storyline.. haha yeah right. I even want to watch the Die Hard sequel, mostly because Justin Long is in it! ^_^ Ratatouille looks really good, hopefully better than Cars. Damn you Pixar for having a Nascar movie. >.<

But along with summer movies, there is also summer concerts! I'm very excited to say that I will so being going to see Justin Timberlake in Portland. I did have Tacoma tickets however that coincides with Rod Run, a hot rod festival in Long Beach, WA that I like to go to every year because my home girl lives there and it's always fun to go to. So yeah I'll be seeing Justin then partying it up with friends and looking at hot cars in September. But before that I'll be going to see Linkin Park. Jeremy and I got the basic cheap lawn tickets. We really didn't have the money for the good seats, however we both knew we really wanted to see Linkin Park and they are going to be here in July. And even more cooler, on our Anniversary! It was like it was preordained that this was to be. Because Jeremy and I really enjoy LP and have always been saying that if they do come back to Washington for a concert we would go, and lo' and behold they do! And on our anniversary of all days! So that will be a fun time to spend our anniversary together. And that following weekend I'l be moving in. Very fun week.

But hmm.. yeah also including PAX in August, this summer is going to be a very busy but fun filled summer. But umm..yeah that's about it for me for most part. Life is good.

O_O

The 2 new Harry Potter trailers just blew me away.

I'm finally done with reading the whole series, other than book 7 and am rereading Order of the Phoenix. I'm already 300 pages in.

But OMG OMG OMG. I'm way too excited for this movie. It's gonna be pimp.

But OMG OMG Spidey this Thursday night!

woot for the '07 movies that are starting!

Spidey 3 at IMAX

FYI to you Washingtonians. IMAX tickets for Spiderman 3 are now on sale. I already bought midnight tickets.

You can get them online here, however I will be up there this Saturday for the Cherry Blossom Festival, if you are interested in coming, I can grab some tickets for you. Let me know! More Spidey fans the merrier! ^_^

so geeky it hurts

Finally found some time to be able to report on the weekends shenanigans at ECCC (Emerald City Comicon). I had a pretty fun time overall, however, I spent WAY too much money there, and mostly on Jeremy. ^^;; I can't help it, the sugar momma in me loves to spoil. It will be my downfall, I already know this. >.>

Comicon

It was my first ECCC, and it was pretty cool. We got there on Saturday after the WoW TCG tourney, later explained in this post, and walked around. Jeremy and I were able to get some of the WoW Trading Card Game cards signed by Gabe from Penny Arcade, because he did the artwork for some of the cards. It was cool that Gabe and Tycho remember me from the many past Sakura Cons as well as PAX's. Had some cool convos w/ them. Jeremy was just really happy that he got his cards signed and was kinda impressed that I kinda knew Gabe & Tycho. lol. Since they had the booth there, I partook in delights of purchasing a few tshirts. I bought Jeremy the RPG Shirt & got myself the Viva Miyamoto shirt, althought it's a guys medium, they were out of the girly sizes. Ah well it works. Jeremy also wanted Gabe to draw him a picture of Fruit Fucker, but didn't have anything to write on, so I bought the first book to Penny Arcade to replace the one that was so conveniently taken by a certain ex.

Walked around more. Got my Powers vol 1-3 signed by Bendis & Oeming. They were pretty cool people. I didn't partake in the Sunday armwrestling of Oeming for Powers Art. I was pretty broke by then. However, they were giving out free black & white cardboard poster as well as a funny childrens coloring book based on Powers. (pic below)

Saw a lot of cool booths that sold various things. There were even many anime themed booths that gave a lil' preview of what to expect from Sakura Con.

Also stopped by the PvP booth and met Scott Kurtz. Got him to autograph the limited edition cells he made for ECCC. (pic below) He and his wife seemed pretty cool.

On a side not at Comicon, Jeremy and I wore our matching Pandamonium T shirts from Threadless. Jeremy wore a hoody over his shirt so no one could really see exactly how cool we were! >.> XD But it was funny because I saw some people who glanced at me or pointed at me, and were talking about my shirt. It seems that my shirt was recognizable as well as there were a good number of people wearing Threadless shirts. It was pretty spiffy. On Sunday I wore the Meat is Murder shirt and got some pretty funny grins and snickers. :D

On a note worth mentioning, there was a booth that I saw a picture of a really cute bunny by the name of Brinkerhoff. There was a local guy who does the webcomic. I was intrigued mostly because it was cute animals that looked sarcastic. Always a good thing, cute animals with attitudes. The artist, Gabe, told me what his comic was about, basically a bunny rabbit going through a divorce w/ this wife and children and his experiences with his friend, Hank, the happy go lucky and sometimes oblivous, hedgehog. I read some of the enlarged strips he had on display and giggled with glee. I immediately purchased one of his comic books and stickers. The comic that hooked me was this one. The line in the last panel is priceless! XD I think I'll use most of today to read and catch up on his comic. Yay another webcomic for me to look forward to reading!

Sunday we went back mainly for the other WoW Trading Card game tourney, which is later explained because it's actually a pretty damn funny story. Got a few more things signed, walked around, and eventually left. Overall it's was a fun convention. Dunno if I'll go next year. More than likely. Got a few more pics to share from it. Because one of the guests of honor was the guy who played Chewbacca from Star Wars, there were a good amount of Star Wars fans there and Jeremy and I happened to get a pic:

Yes. We are geeks. ^_^

World of Warcraft Trading Card Game

On Saturday, before Comicon, we went to the WoW Trading Card Game Dark Portal set prerelease tournament at Seattle Center, like I stated in a previous post. I was mainly going there for Jeremy because he is really into the TCG and you get free special cards for showing up/participating as well as a chance to win prizes. There was a $25 entry fee, and I actually had to sign up with Upper Deck Entertainment. The tournament basically consisted of using 4 packs of the current release deck "Heroes of Azeroth" and 2 packs of the not-yet-released "Dark Portal" set, make a deck out of it and play in a tournament. Now I know how to play the game because Jeremy taught me, however, I really had not desire or aspiration to participate with such enthusiasm as Jeremy or his friends. However, there is a rare card that they give you for participating, so I ask the judges if I can just pay, get the cards and leave, and they replied, "No, to get the rare card you have to at least play one round, and after that we will do a drawing for prizes". Much to my non-enthusiastic reaction, I humbly sighed and sucked it up, made my deck and awaited till they anounced the first round playoffs.

Ironic as they can be, my first round, I was paired off to play, of all people of the 50 geeks that were there, Jeremy. Yes, my boyfriend. WTF? Dunno how that happened, but hey irony and my many life events go hand in hand. Based on the cards I was able to use, I had to make a *shudders* paladin. *shudders*. Yes, I still feel very very very dirty from using it, however it was a Horde Blood Elf Paladin, so that sorta makes up for it. I downright refused to make an alliance deck. Anyways, I played vs Jeremy and actually held my own, but in the end lost. I gave him the "evil eye" in jealousy to beating me, but forgave him, j/k.

After that, we waited for the postings of the next round. I ended up playing a young kid and beat him! woot! But before we started playing, they passed out the rare card they said they were gonna give out that round, and also anounced the winners in a drawing for a Dark Portal Card box. What was funny was as the judge was anouncing the winners, he stated beforehand, "Now this is how it came to be, I swear to you, it isn't rigged". Guess whose name he announced. Yes. Me. I started lol'ing my way up to collect my prize. It's funny because I know I'm the reason why he stated that "wasn't rigged" thing, because they knew I was there for Jeremy. So I guess I a lucky charm for Jeremy so he could get cool stuff. Pics below. After my 3rd round, I lost and decided after that to opt out so we could head over to Comicon.

Here is a closeup for the Dark Portal Card Box I won:

and here is me with the card box with the big cheesey smile! :D

On the Sunday tournament at Comicon, it was just the basic deck tournament. We made the best deck out of 4 booster packs that we were actually able to pass around each deck among a certain number of people. I made an Alliance Hunter deck because I knew there were easy to use and normally easy to win with.

It was kinda funny because the judge that was there, was one of the judges from the previous day's tournament. I'm sure he recognized Jeremy and myself. But my first round I won, mainly because I played a guy who was playing for the first time, and I was mostly teaching him how to play. Took a while to play but I won because I r leet. 2nd round I ended up losing to Jeremy's friend, Dave. It was inevitable. Dave has a knack for collectible card games, as he also plays Yu-gi-oh and Magic. But I think I held my own for a while. But yeah, so as we walked around to kill the time as Dave was competing in the semi-finals, we came back, and the judge, who has a funny name of "Kevin Smith", seriously that's his name, he came up to me and said "Hey Rochelle, just so you know, we had a drawing and you won this":

It was a Dark Portal Playmat. I was like OMG! NO WAI! It was so funny. I was so excited I gave him a hug, well not too big of a hug cuz Jeremy was there. ^^:; but it was hilarious. Here I am winning another prize. Me, a person who isn't a fanatic of the TCG. Jeremy had this look of disbelief, even though deep down he knew I was going to be giving him the prize. After that, I was just giggling because of the irony of it all. Jeremy was kinda bitter because he didn't really win anything but the cards that we played with. He was saying "That is so HAX". I bet you won those conveniently because you're a girl, you're asian/islander & cuz you're cute."

After he made that comment, it made me think on it a bit. He was probably right, well partially at that. I mean yeah more than likely I might have won them because I was a girl, but in all honesty, if that was trully the case, it would be possibly the first time I got something because of that. It's kinda flattering, actually, no, it IS flattering and a bit of an ego booster, however, I normally would like to be credited based on merits other than things of superficiality, but dammit, that felt good. But after thinking about that, I replied, "well think of it this way honey, you get free stuff regardless, you are dating a cute girl and remember next time for any tournament, make sure to bring me along!" lol

XD hehe ^^

But yeah, as much as I hate to admit this, I actually enjoyed playing the Horde Paladin deck, and Jeremy helped me later on that weekend create a good deck. & overall I enjoyed playing the game more. I might actually have to stop by Game Matrix on Friday evenings to play.

So yeah Comicon was a blast, now I have Sakura Con to look forward too. Man another busy weekend of spending monies. >.<

omg holey moley donut shop

To quote my best friend Tera after I told her the wonderful news.

This just in.. (hehe no pun intended)

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS COMING TO TACOMA SEPT 8TH!

holy mary mother of god, i'm so excited. tickets go on sale this saturday! >.< crap! i'll be to busy at comicon and what not. but i'm willing to drop some dough on buying tickets online well better tickets that other people sell.

but omg, he's coming! this is the best news ever!

gah, i should be working! :P

Yeah, I'm updating. Man I have a lot to talk about. As I'm at work, I'm toggling windows from processing claims to typing all this loverly fun stuff on notepad. Hmm.. where to begin.

Upcoming events

Emerald City Comicon
Happening this weekend. Jeremy and I are only going on Saturday. They have announced some pretty darn cool guests such as Peter Mayhew most commonly known as Chewbacca from Star Wars. I, myself, just want to meet Scott Kurtz from PvP and get my Powers TPB's signed by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Avon Oeming. That would be hawt.

LOL and apparently on Sunday, Oeming is a doing an arm wrestling contest for a $10 donation to HERO, you can arm wrestle Oeming and if you win, you get an original page of POWERS art. Hmm.. maybe I might stop by on Sunday. hehe

WoW TCG expansion pack release

For those who don't know what WoW TCG is.. it's the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Yeah. I'm not really too much into it, however I was highly addicted to the MMO. It's mostly for Jeremy, who is really into the TCG. Apparently at Seattle Center there is going to be a sneak preview of the new upcoming expansion to the card game and tournament. For $25, you get a starter pack with some boosters and you play with them and get to keep the cards. In all honestly since it's the same day as Comicon, we'll more than likely go there first, get the cards then head to Comicon. Hehe

Sakura Con

This is next weekend. I'm kinda excited for it, however I can only imagine how even bigger it's going to be. At least from what Chris Louck, American Guest Relations Manager, told me, I'll have Sunday off. That will be nice. I'll try to steal my mom's digi cam so I can take pics and eventually post them.

Lent update

Yeah.. umm.. I'm weak. I gave into chocolate a week ago. I couldn't help it, nor do I care anymore. Chocolate is damn good, it was worth consuming those heavenly Cow Chip chocolate chip cookies that were freshly baked. I went for a few weeks w/o chocolate. I did, however, realize I didn't need chocolate as much as I thought I did. But regardless it was interesting to see how silly one can get when they crave something even more when they know they can't have it. Damn "forbidden fruit" complex >.<

Movies

Having Jeremy be quite the big movie fanatic, which I do enjoy that he does like movies, gives me more opportunities to go to the movie theater to watch them. I honestly forgot most of the movies I've seen in the past few weeks, I'll just go over the ones I enjoyed the most.

300

Yeah. I saw this movie twice already. Yes. It is worth seeing it twice in the theaters, IMO. From what many people have referred this movie as being "all man/male" or whatever, I being not a male/man, enjoyed it. I mean seriously, 300 hard bodies of the Spartans. Yummy. ^_^ But in all honesty, the battle/fight sequences were great, loved the cinematography. Probably one of the best movies I will see this year, however the upcoming Spiderman 3, and Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix will definitely give 300 a run for best movie for me this year.

Anothing thing I loved a lot was the many webcomic references to this movie. Man, I can't get over them. I'll go ahead and list/link them.

Penny Arcade
Ctrl+Alt+Del
Apple Geeks Lite
Multiplex

They all made me giggle. :D

TMNT

Ahh Turtles. How can you not feel pure nostalgia when you think of TMNT? Although, many critics have complained the jokes were corny and blah, umm.. well EXCUSE ME!?! Turtles' jokes were always corny and silly. The movie was quite enjoyable. There was this one joke that Michaelango said near the end, that just made me giggle beyond all amusement as well as most if not all the audience. I can't remember it for the life of me, but if you know it, let me know!

But one thing I really enjoyed about the movie, were not only some of the big names of some of the voice actors, but the fact that the main characters, ie the Turtles were voiced by non famous hollywood actors, but in fact real talented Voice actors. People who have been in the biz of voice acting. Because lord knows how annoying it can be when you have a famous voice behind some of your favorite characters growing up as a child. That I will definitely applaud the creators of TMNT for. The big names played side roles, which weren't too bad and didn't take away the concentration or focus from the Turtles. I do hope they come out with a sequel.

Eragon

This movie I saw twice in the theaters, and was recently released on DVD. I'm bringing up this movie for many reasons. I'm not sure if I blogged about this, but if you enjoyed this movie, I suggest you read the book. And for those who read the book , but haven't watched the movie, I'm very sorry.

(Warning fan girl rant coming..)
This movie did not do this book justice whatsoever. I mean yeah there was a lot in the book that you coudln't cover in the movie, but seriously, some of the things from the book, they could have easily covered in the movie. One of the biggest things that piss me off, was Arya, the elf princess that Eragon goes to rescue. In the book she has black hair, and is a FUCKING ELF! In the movie, she's strawberry blonde, which I can let that go, but if you're a fucking elf, you better have fucking pointy elf goddamn ears. But noo...apparently the creators thought hey you don't need to put pointy ears on elves for them to be elves. Jesus tap dancing Christ that is beyond retarded. There were many parts of the movie that could have been done a lot better, but meh. The movie is good if you didn't read the book, however I remember how I wish there was more character development when I first watched it, and now I wish there was even more, and they cut out one of the more important characters in the book from the movie, Murtagh, who in book 2, Eldest, proves to be a very important character.

However after watching the movie again for the 3rd time, I was ok with it, but if anything the deleted scenes would have made the movie a lot better, because there were some key elements in the book that I was upset for the movie for cutting out, so if anything that "kinda" made up for it.

After reading the 2nd book, Eldest, I can only imagine how much they would butcher that story too, and if anything there is just WAY too much in that book for them to put into a 2 hour movie. Who knows if there is going to be a sequel. But I can only pray if there is a sequel, they actually try to stick to the book.

Personal things

It has been 8 months now since I've been dating/having a relationship with Jeremy. It's crazy how things turn out to be. There are many instances where I think about a year ago, how things were, when I was living with my ex. How much different my relationship with him was compared to things with Jeremy. I know I might really mushy, but in all honesty I'm crazy about Jeremy. I try to spend most of my free time with him and just wish we lived closer. He lives like a good 30-40 mins away w/ average traffic. It really sucks living that far away from a person, however I've been in relationships where they lived farther. But anyways to get to the point, we have decided that by the time my lease runs out in July/August, I will be moving in with Jeremy in Kent. It will have been over a year since we have been together, and as long as things between us stay good, I will be living in Kent. It will be quite different for me because I will be the one commuting to work. Instead of my awesome 10 min drive taking backroads to work, I'll be travelling 40 mins avg. *sigh* But in the end it will be worth it, I'll be saving more money with rent and bills even though gas prices are going up yet again. But overall I want to live with him, not just as some excuse as I did before to move out of my parents' place, but to honestly live with a person who I love and want to see the relationship grow. (Wow, I've actually said something smart for once :P)

But Jeremy feels the same way, and I'm so happy that he does. The only thing that we will have to face is figuring out what goes and what stays, because that man is a pack rat beyond all imagination. I don't have a lot of stuff and my stuff is mostly furniture that any aparement needs. All I know come around June/July, Jeremy and I will have to have a nice discussion of what we are going to do, the terms of living together etc and what to expect from eachother. I don't want to go into something this big w/o having most of my bases covered to help prevent any possible problems I once had in the past w/ my ex. I just really look forward to living with him and having to come home with him there and being able to snuggle and cuddle with. ^_^

But yeah. I'm really excited for this. Jeremy of course has to kick out his current roommate, Lee, but yeah, it's life. Plus I make a way better roommate anyday ^_~. All in all life is going great. Just trying to save up for stuff, pay bills off and get ready for upcoming events. Life is very busy. I don't get much sleep because I'm retarded and stupid, but yeah, as my friend, Scott would say, "I can sleep when I'm dead"

p.s.

zomg not another threadless sale!

yeah i haven't been posting. i r teh uber lazy. and honestly just really busy at work, that i barely even have time for webcomics!

and i refuse to type w/ caps right now, so ha!

anyways, threadless has another $10 sale, so i decided to partake in such a splendid event. i recently game my pandamonium in men's xl to jeremy because it no longer fit me, so i bought the girly version! also picked up bad teddy & meat is murder

scott, for some reason i thought of you when i saw the meat is murder shirt. dunno why, it just seems like something i would imagine you would say. but nonetheless great shirts. i would have gotten way more shirts, but i planned on only dropping $30 there.

however, these shirts also deserve honorable mention:

greetins from the ghetto would have so gotten this one in a heartbeat, if it wasn't on white!

planetary status poor poor pluto!

lil' soap so cute. i was so tempted to pick it up.

wwmd? i would have love to have seen how macgyver would have gotten out of that situation!

but yeah i love threadless. great stuff as usual.

but as for me, been just doing the normal work, home, boyfriend thing. working overtime. getting ready and excited for comicon, sakura con, and pax.

almost been 3 weeks w/o chocolate. it's been rough at times, especially when my office has 2 different potlucks where it serves chocolate cake! my weakness. (yes scott, cake > pie for life!) but yeah it's been hard at times, but i'm staying strong, what makes it even worse, it's girls' scout cookie month! those samoas/caramel delights haunt me. oh how i want them so badly. i plan on buying some and saving them for post easter! m'whahahahaha

i also plan on taking jeremy to the cherry blossom festival on april 21 in seattle, that will be very fun. hopefully the weather will be loverly for that.

but life is very good. i'm very happy with jeremy. i love him. he loves me. all is bliss.

bye bye chocolate ; _ ;

So I totally forgot that 02/21/07 was Ash Wednesday. Me being a Catholic and all. LOL. I'm don't really even consider myself a Catholic. More of less I'm Christian, that chooses to not go to church. But anways..

I got a text message from Tera telling me she's giving up alcohol for Lent. That's pretty tough for her considering she's become quite the party girl, however, I know she has the strength and determination to do so.

That got me thinking, should I give up something for Lent? I thought about this a throughout the day yesterday, and when I went to go see Jeremy, I told him about it. I then told him I was considering giving up sex for Lent. You know that whole "40 Days/40 Nights" movie with Josh Hartnett. ^^ Of course my expected reaction from him to this proposal was quite humorous. He was like "umm.. NO.. Hell no." LOL

Of course I was only joking. :P

But anyways, I propose that even though he's not really religious, we both give up something together for Lent. After much consideration of things we indulge in a lot and things that we can really try to do without and more than likely accomplish, I have chosen to give up chocolate for lent and for Jeremy, peanut butter.

This will be quite difficult for both of us, since we are both avid daily eaters of such delectible delights. However, I think through positive encouragement and determination we can do it. As a treat on Easter Sunday, I have ordered a 6 oz chocolate covered peanut butter egg for Jeremy as a gift in hopes he will accomplish this goal.

So yeah. No chocolate till Easter. That's April 8th. *sigh* This is gonna be rough. I already gave away all the chocolate type treats in my desk to coworkers. For my chocolate substitute, I'll be getting other various snacks such as fruits, nuts, yogurt etc. I'm sure they will tide me over, however there will be times when I will crave chocolate so badly I might have to slit a few throats to do so. ^^;; (Lord, give me strength during those times)

But yeah. Actually as a leeway because we both still have chocolate/peanut butter products at home, Jeremy and I won't officially start till this upcoming Sunday. So technically I have all day today and tomorrow to indulge in chocolate, however I'll try not to, too much.

But here goes, "The Epic Quest of No Chocolate for Ro" has commenced.

Wish me luck.

updates, anniversary, cell phone, vday, what not

Yeah I havne't updated in a while. I've been meaning too, just got caught up in work and whenever I'm home, I don't feel like blogging. When I'm at home, blogging is the last thing I want to do.

But anyways some stuff going on:

Cell phone:

Verizon is my cell phone provider and a few weeks ago was the date I got to upgrade my phone to a newer one with discount. From what it said on my account info, I was only gonna get a $50 discount, because I started my account like 5 days after a cut-off date of getting $100 off. It was teh suck, but regardless I was gonna get a discount.

So a few Sundays ago, I was out with Jeremy & my parents. We went to eat lunch, and run errands. I go to Verizon and tell them I want to upgrade my phone. I find out I get a $100 discount for some reason, regardless woot! I had my eyes set on the new Motorola KRZR Fire phone. It was cool looking and it was a pretty red. ^_^ So I get that phone and with the $50 mail in rebate it was pretty much a free phone, just paid for accessories like bluetooth head set and car charger. The KRAZR seemed like a decent phone at the time, however I wished I would have looked at the phone more and the features they had to offer.

My orginial phone is a LG-6100. A great phone IMO. Very customizable for ringtones, txt tones, picture ID etc. The KRAZR, so not that easily customizable. I mean yeah, I can get ringtones from Verizon and set that to a certain caller ID, however it didn't really let me get ringtones sent to my phone via txt message. Reason why I like that, is because I have a certain tone that rings everytime I get a txt message from someone. It's the "eye-catcher" tune to Azumanga Daioh. Way cute tune and not too long for a tone. And on top of that, the KRAZR had issues with the ringtones I got from Verizon. They wouldn't play after having them for a day, even when I set them to certain Caller IDs. I had to go to Verizon store the next day to basically get a new phone because it wasn't working. So I was gonna give the KRAZR another chance. Redownloaded all the ringtones I had. Called customer care to get the ringtone credit. Then once again, the same problem, more or less. Ringtones werent' working. A certain ringtone I was trying to download, was corrupted. I had to contact tech support to let them know. Basically throughout the whole week, the KRAZR was a pain in the ass.

So come Friday, I was like "F*** this". I took off early and went to Verizon and traded for the LG 8600. A much better phone. Only thing so far that I miss from my old LG, I was able to save notes to contacts, because on a lot of them, I had mailing addresses. Also I don't have personalized txt message tones, but I'm at least happy I was able to send me the Azumanga Daioh tone and apply it to be my txt tone. Another weird thing, I don't think my phone is speaker phone capable. Which is very odd. Most phones have that, and to think that my new phone doesn't is weird, but at the same time, isn't really a big deal because I barely use speaker phone as is. So all in all the LG 8600 is a good buy. Just had to spend an extra $30 for it, which is still a good deal.

So yeah, I gots a new phone. Love it. It's sleek, thin, and light. Too bad it's black, wouldn't mind a more feminine color, but black will do.

Valentine's Day:

Didn't really want to go out on this day. As much as I am anti-Valetines Day, when you actually have someone to share it with, you become less anti-Vday. ^^;; I mean I don't like the fact that it's basically a commercialized holiday to make people buy stupid flowers, balloons, candy, jewelry, etc. But I basically went up to see Jeremy. We made dinner together. He's been hankering to try to make the Chinese Mushroom Chicken dish, and got basic instructions from my father and oyster sauce from my mother. I got a few more ingredients and a recipe online, in hopes to help give more direction. The dish turned out to be pretty good, however, some of our vegetables (broccoli & zucchini got a bit too mushy), but we'll have to try out that recipe again, and next time not to forget the garlic and ginger. We watched Fearless and just hung out.

It was kinda funny though, because by the time I go to his place, I was pulling into his complex and saw he was pulling out of the office area. I drove after him and as I parked and got out and started walking towards him, I couldnt' help but notice a red heart balloon hovering in his car. Then I saw him stuffing something under his jacket, and he looked at me, and I then pointed to his appartment and just started walking. He was basically trying to hide the present he got me. He got me a Wii sling bag, so I can easily transport my Wii to and from his place. However, I had to return it because it wasn't that big and honestly coudln't hold all that stuff. Plus one of my big grandma purses seems to hold my Wii w/ adapaters, games, 2 each of the Wii-mote, nun chuck, & classic controllers and even the Zelda strategy guide perfectly to transport. We did see a nice big Wii holder at Fred Meyer for $40, so I might drop some money on that if I ever decide I might need it. For my present for Jeremy I got him a wireless Xbox 360 controller because he only had one controller, and I figured he needed more. But it was cute to get the present because he was trying to be all sly, and I kinda made it hard because I arrived before he was ready.

He got me a really cute card, as I did for him. So all in all a great Valentines day. ^_^

Oh yeah, he also got me a turtle mount for WoW which I already redeemed on my Blood Elf Mage. I have pics uploaded to photobucket, but retardedly enough, my work has decided to block photobucket and I am have to find another site to host my blog images.

/wrists

I'll post pics eventually.

surgery anniversary:

02/07/06, it has been a year since I had my gastric bypass surgery. I went in yesterday for my yearly follow-up at Virginia Mason. I have lost 108lbs since then. Yeah it's a lot, but at the same time, I know I could have lost more, if I had exercised on a regular basis. But still losing 108lbs is freaking insane when you think about it, from not really exercising. I still can't believe it's been a year already. I still have a hard time realizing how much has changed and how much I've changed, physically and mentally.

Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and can't believe it. I am still not satisfied where I am at, and ideally would like to lose 30-50 more pounds, and will be totally fine with 30. I need to kick my ass more and get to the gym. >.< But yeah for most part I'm doing great, still need to incorporate more protein in my diet as well as get back into the habit of my vitamins. The thing that sucks the most, is the cost of the vitamins because I need elemental calcium and not the basic calcium vitamins, and that doesn't come cheap, along with some protein supplements, because honestly it can be a chore making sure I get my 60g of protein a day. I might have to get back into drinking a protein shake a day or something I'll have to figure something out. But my doctor and nutritionist where happy to see I was doing well and I am not gaining any of the weight back. I'd rather DIAF than gain the weight back.

But yeah, it's been a pretty good last week or so.

Saw Ghost Rider on Sunday. Yeah. I should have waited for the DVD, if that. Not too impressed. However, there was a kick ass trailer for 300, which look sexy. I look forward to that movie. Also this weekend, that Jim Carrey thriller, The Number 23 comes out as well as Reno 911: Miami. That looks hilarious. So looks like another movie weekend for me! ^_^

happy friday!

Ahh anime.

Finally finished watching Samurai 7, that I borrowed from Megu. I have to say I finsished that series a lot faster than I did season 1 of Ahh! My Goddess TV Series. But man I NEED to own Samurai 7. What a good series.

I will admit, I cried pretty well at the last few episodes. Seeing some of the Samurai die. I knew it was bound to happen, but still, seeing cool characters that I've grown to know and love, seeing them die, very sad ;_; *tear*

Anyways, great series. If you haven't watched it, I suggest you do.

And in honor of watching such a kickass anime, I am not making my work desktop wallpaper this for the time being, until I find something better.

Also HAPPY FRIDAY! So far my Friday is going pretty well, although I am still pretty sore from the martial arts work outs, and didn't wake up in time for OT this morning, I found out I did get some sort of tax refund this year from the treasury. Originally I was told my tax refund would go to a debt I owed the government, which I had no problem with, but I seemed to have gotten $150 back. So umm.. yeah.. WOOT! Extra monies is always a good thing. I don't know what I"m gonna do with it, if anything it will be an extra payment towards the repair to my car.

but Happy Friday!

Kickboxing & Jujutsu..

So yesterday, Jeremy and I finally attended our complimentary 2 week pass to martial arts training. My friend Chris is a member of Leading Edge Kickboxing, and he was the one who gave us the vouchers.

I knew Jeremy wanted to get back into martial arts and from what I heard, the kickboxing class gives pretty good cardio workouts, as well as it's fun. So we go.

First class was mainly for Jeremy, althogh I participated. It was Jujutsu. Pretty interesting. It was cool to just get into techniques of how to get out of certain positions and what not. One of the girls I paired up with, I honestly forget her name, I think it's Laura or Lisa, made me feel comfortable doing the manuevers with her. I was pretty damn nervous because I had no idea what I was doing and she was very positive explained things to me. It was kinda funny, cuz she was also doing the class with her boyfriend Chase, who ironically paired up with Jeremy. From what I saw Jeremy was having a good time.

The next class was Kickboxing. Man, that certainly kicked my butt. I didn't go full out hard, because I didn't want to hurt my body, I probably went at like 60-70%. We first started out with warm up execercises such as skipping rope, sit-ups, and push-ups. Then we paired off, I was with Laura again, and we put on gloves and blocking pads, and we just practiced 3 hit combos of cross and hook punches. I did pretty good at that. I didn't hit hard because Laura was recently recovering from shoulder surgery and didn't want to hurt her. But from what she said, I was good at doing cross punches because I was able to easily learn to rotate my hip throughout the punch. I guess I'm used to that because I was a thrower in Track & Field in high school and with throwing discus and shot put, the power comes from your legs and rotating your hips, so that was pretty cool.

We then proceded with doing kicks. Same thing for most part. Threw a cross then kicked. Yean, I'm not that flexible and I realized that with my first few kicks. For some odd reason, it seemed easier for me to kick with my left leg than my right. The rotation in my hips seemed easier at least. Then we continued with sparring with punches again. This time the defender threw a hit to either the head or torso, so we can learn to block. Then followed up with a 3 combo hit of crosses, hooks and uppercuts.

Then we finished off with like a minute of fast hard jabbing alternating our punches and also knee lifts. Man that was a workout. Felt good.

After the sparring, we did more cardio, by doing these squat type thingies, where you squat, have your hands touch the ground, push out your legs as if you were about to do push ups, then pull your legs back in and jump up. We did that for about a minute. OMG... yeah. Those are tough. And we finished up with doing pushups for a minute. I had to do the female position because I was pretty tired.

After the class, I felt really lightheaded as if I coudln't breathe, and not enough oxygen was getting to my brain. And another odd thing, my hearing was muffled, I dunno what happened, I guess I over exerted myself a bit on the squat thingies. I had to sit down for a few minutes to catch my breath, and I felt better and my hearing came back.

They still had another class, Jeet Kun Do, which looked pretty cool from what I saw, however I dunno if I can get into that.

Overall Jeremy and I had a good time. From what he told me, he'd rather do the Jujutsu because the Kickboxing class kicked his ass and he kinda hurt his shoulder from the punching. I rather do the Kickboxing, so we have another week or so of classes, we'll more than likely just attend the Wednesday & Saturday class, and then decide if we want to join.

I honestly don't know if I can afford this right now. It's like $75 a month, and I can afford it, just right now I need to finish paying off the repairs to my car, and I won't get finished till like May, possibly earlier, if I work OT or something. I'll have to consider my finances and see if I can do it. But another negative is that the class is in Renton, which is like a good 45-60 minute drive depending upon traffic, so that's a bit on gas. I am already spending enough on gas with commuting to see Jeremy already, but I did enjoy the class a lot and it was refreshing to be able to exercise and have fun at the same time, and learn some pretty cool stuff.

So something to defintely consider.

But yeah, my body is sore. Not too badly, mostly my calves, quads, and pecs from the push ups.

the darkside has beckoned me back..

So it has come to my conclusion that whenever it comes to me and Nintendo products, well in my efforts for me to either get them or for them to work for me, it's basically some sort of epic journey that I must endure.

As you recall of my tales of search for the Pink DS Lite as well as the Wii, it was quite the search in order to get them. Now, from what you don't know, for Christmas I received a Belkin Wireless G router from Jeremy. He bought it for me because I've always wanted one to go online with my DS to play Tetris and for Animal Crossing. I was happy to get one finally.

A week or so after Christmas, I finally decide to hook it up to test the bad boy out. At first it was working, but then 15 mins later, I had no internet connection what-so-ever. It was very odd, so I reinstalled it again, and still no connection. At the point in time, I wasn't really needing to go online with my DS, so I just took out the wireless router and hooked up the computer to my modem.

After I got the Wii, I knew I needed to get my wireless router working. So last Monday, I try reinstalling it and to no luck, I coudln't get the damn thing to work. So I then call Belkin Tech support on Tuesday, went through all the mundane steps that they have to go through to make sure that I'm doing the right thing to connect the router. After spending a good hour on the phone with them, to basically have them tell me, my router isn't working. (dur-de-durrh *Carlos Mencia impersonation*)

Anyways, they basically told me that they will send me a new router, and it will take like 7-10 business days to get it in the mail, which would be like 2/14. I was like sure. Luckily, I received that router in the mail that following Friday. So with eager anticipation of finally being able to get online with the Wii, I hook up the router, and test it out.

Yeah. Guess what happens. No connection.

ARGH! >.<

This time, it couldn't have been the router. It had to be my ISP. So I call up Comcast and get in touch with their tech support. As they are verifying my account information and myself, they look at my account and tell me, "Umm.. You don't have internet services with us."

Much to my surprise, I respond like the Virgin Mary, "Come again?" (If you know what movie I'm referrencing you get a cookie!) This was a big shock to me because I've had internet services ever since I joined Comcast back in I think it was July or August of 05, back when I was still living with that "one guy". And when I moved out on my own last August, I still continued to have internet service. Even more ironic, my ex stole my modem that I was renting from Comcast and had to pay $90 for that and rent a new modem from them, that I got from their office, so they should have known that I had internet services. So yeah, I then go, "This can't be possible, I've been using the internet for ages, I pay every month for them, let me check my statement." I remembered that a billing statement came in the mail that day as well from them, so I open the letter, look at it, and say, "Well I'll be goddamned". It only said cable for the services I had with them. So I was like.. "um.. because you guys didn't bill me for the last few months, are you gonna back bill me?" They said "No, that's our error for not billing you for internet services". I then say "Woohoo! You're damn right that's it's your bad, but anyways, I want internet services but I don't want to pay anymore than what I've been paying, so what options are there to downgrade my cable?"

I basically had like 6 months of free cable internet and was paying for stupid cable with HBO & Encore, that I barely ever used. Ah well. But I downgraded my cable to just basic channels with On Demand access with Cable internet for pretty much the same price, give or take a dollar.

So after that lil' fiasco, I still talk to tech support about the modem/router, they test it out and said they are receiving a signal and everything looks fine, but I still wasn't connecting with my Wii or DS.

*twitch*

So I then go to the webiste, the Wii & DS told me to go to: nintendowifi to find out what the Error Code they gave me meant. After navigating througout their website I come to find that the specific Model of the Belkin router I had was apparently not compatable with Nintendo Products. Every other Belkin router was compatable, except for my specific model.

WTF? Of all the things I thought was wrong, it was the type of router. *sigh* So I had 2 routers that do work, but they aren't the ones I needed. No access to the internets via Wii & DS.

My next plan of action, see where Jeremy bought my router and try to exchange it there to get store credit, and then try to return the extra one to get additional store credit. Heehee. He originally got it at Frye's, and that was a bit far for me to travel.. So I then think of walmart. I go to their website to see if they even sold that specific router and model, and to my luck they did. So I call the new local Walmart that was recently built in Lakewood. I proceed to tell them, I received "both" routers as Christmas presents, however even though they do work, they aren't compatible with what I want it to work for, and ask if I can return it or get store credit. They respond with that as long as I had all the original stuff that came in the box and if a Electronics Customer Rep checks it out, I could.

So I go to Walmart and get store credit for both routers! Heehee, yes I know, it was evil of me, but what the hell am I gonna do with a router that I don't need? I get a $86 store credit! I then call Jeremy to tell him of the splendid and funny news, he was like "Geez, and I only spent like $36 on your router!" So not only did I get a free credit of a router, but I also got like an extra $4/$6 on it as well. Woot!

So now I had $86 to spend..Hmm.. I proceed to the Electronics/Gaming section. I had so many options. I've been wanting to get so many things. So many choices:

1) Replacement router, differnt brand, Linksys more than likely, so I can finally get online w/ the Wii/Ds
2) Elebits for the Wii, I've been back and forth with this game, and even though I do enjoy Zelda, I need a silly game to keep me amused for when I take my break from Zelda
3) Super Mario Sunshine for the GC, along with a Wavebird & Memory Card, cuz I miss my Mario Sunshine because a certain ex stole all my gaming systems and games.
4) Finally cave in and get WoW The Burning Crusade Expansion

So guess what I picked?

Yes. I have succumbed to the power of the darkside. I bought the WoW expansion. I finally reactivated my account after months of not playing it. I had to download so many freaking patches before I could finally install the damn thing. But yes, I finally got back online with WoW. I still feel dirty. lol But it was pretty cool from what I saw. A good guildmate of mine, gave me a tour of the new areas with my lvl 60 shaman so I can start grinding to lvl 70. I also created a Blood Elf Mage by the name of Leiloo. (Can you guess where I got that from?) So yeah, it looked pretty cool so far. It was so weird coming back after not playing for such a long time.

My guild is totally different. They underwent a big massive exodus of guildies leaving to other places, a lot of people that I enjoyed playing with. I don't know what I'm gonna be doing in the future with my guild. All I know is that I'll probably play no more than 10 hours a week on WoW because I have other things to do that I enjoy, and I'm just gonna enjoy playing from time to time, no big commitment, just checking things out.

But I still have a $40 credit on my Walmart card. I think this Friday, I'll use the rest of it and some of my paycheck to get a Linksys wireless router to finally hook up my Wii online and buy a Wii points card and download some fun games. ^_^

I just hope this will be the last of the epic journeys I'll be having with Nintendo for a while. I don't think I can handle the frustration anymore. ^^;;

I love you Gabe & Tycho

Recently as I've been doing my weekly catch up on webcomics, I noticed that Questionable Content, Chugworth, Loserz, & Gone with the Blastwave are all now blocked.

Suck-fu

However...

I also discovered that Penny Arcade is somehow no longer blocked!

WOOT! \m/

So I've been playing catch up with that since I think April, and, how I've missed PA so. I couldn't stop laughing at some of them. I miss reading their rants and seeing their reviews of games.

At least this catch up will keep me occupied during those "slow" moments at work. Which are more often than not. This also reminds me, I should go buy some of their shirts. Especially the DS one. That one was hot, maybe they have them in different colors other than stupid black. Pink would be leet to match my pretty pink DS lite...

One can only hope.

Harry Potter Book 7!

It has been finally announced, Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows will be released 07/21/07, one week after Order of the Phoenix comes out in theaters. OMG.. so excited..

The hardback will be $35 and the deluxe edition $65. Good lord, that's a lot of money, but I think I'll shell out for that.

This will be perfect for my reading plans! So before movie 5 comes out I will have to read book 5 & 6 before July. I have more than enough time. heehee. ^^

Another Convention

Totally forgot about Emerald City Comicon at Qwest Field March 31st-April 1st. Jeremy & I will be attending.

I look foward to seeing Scott Kurtz from PvP, Brian Michael Bendis & Mike Avon Oeming (creatos of Powers), to name a few choice guests there.

I'll have to stop by TicketMaster to get tickets. It'll be fun going since I've never been to an actual Comic Convention. ^_^ I'll have to make sure to either pick up all the Powers Series to have them signed or just stop by the Comic Book Ink booth and buy them there.

Either way more Convention love to be had!

grr @ my apt

So I'm working OT early all week long. As I play Snooze tag with my alarm clock this morning, around 4 AM, I hear this odd sound.

A dripping.

Not fucking again.

Yes there is another goddamn motherfucking leak coming from upstairs.

This time it was in my closet with the water heater. More than likely the upstairs apt's water heater is leaking which is why it's leaking through my ceiling.

Did I page maintenance?

Oh you bet I fucking did. I told them this was the 3rd time in like 2 months that my apt had some sort of leak problem. It's getting ridiculous. Guy told me if it was ok if he came to check it at 9 AM. I told them that since the leak wasn't too bad, it's fine, I wouldn't be home due to work and gave them permission to enter.

Regardless I'm calling the main office when they open to chew their asses out. This is so no right. I shouldn't have to worry about what's the next thing that's gonna leak in my apt. I mean especially if I'm not there. Only time I'm in my apt is during the weekdays really, the weekends I normally go hang out with Jeremy in Kent. I shouldnt' have to worry about what's the next damn thing that's gonna spring and leak, and ruin my shit.

Fuck. What a way to start a day.

On top of that I've been getting a scratchy throat and stuffy nose. Please don't tell me I'm getting sick again.

>.<

/sigh

upcoming conventions

So the Penny Arcade Expo site is finally updated for the new dates of it. Pretty much the only thing on there worth doing is registering. At least I know the dates, so I can schedule time off to go.

Also there is Sakura Con which is in April. I do believe I'm still a guest liason. I hope so at least, if not, hmm.. However, I did look at the guest list so far and saw this guy as a guest. ZOMG!

I wonder if I'll be assigned as his guest liason. *cough*hint*cough*Chris L*cough*

I can only imagine how funny Jeff Jacques would be. If anything I'll try to make it to his panels, buy some cool shirts and have him autograph something.

But yeah, looks like I'll have to save some money for both those cons. I'm just looking forward to go! ^_^

weekend wrap up

Been meaning to post this, but work has me busy, which is a good thing. (Yay for job security!)

Anyways, I had a very busy weekend.

Friday, from what you saw, I was on the quest for a Wii as well as excrucitingly waiting for my car to get fixed.

So I was calling various Gamestops, EB Games, Game Crazies, Targets, Fred Meyers, Walmarts, Sears, K-Marts..etc.. After so many calls.. I finally call a Game Crazy in Auburn. (For those who aren't Washingtonians, that's like 30mins away from me) Pretty much hearing the same spiel of "Thank you for calling *name of store* where we buy and sell used games/where you can reserve your copy of *new awesome title coming out* how may I help you?"

I then ask, "Do you have the Wii?" and pretty much all of them say "no". But when I called this Game Crazy in Auburn, I decided to say something different. I replied to them after they answered the phone, "I'm pretty sure the answer is 'no', but do you have the Wii?"

They then replied, "Yes. We do." "Come again?" I replied. I did a double take. I was like.. "Wait a minute, you have a Wii in stock?" They answered "Yes we got 4 in today?"

ZOMG! O_O I couldn't believe it. I found the Wii. So I asked if they hold them and they said no, so I told them I'm on my way. I take time off work, head to the credit union to get monies. As I was leaving the credit union, I called them back, begging and pleading my case that I was coming from 30 mins away, taking time off work to go get the Wii and if they could hold one for me, I would have their babies. They said, if you get an MVP account with us, sure. It was only $20 plus I get a magazine subscription, so I was like, if that's what it takes.. sure.

I haul ass to Auburn, and the directions that Mapquest gave me, blowed serious goats. I think I'm just gonna use Yahoo Maps from now on. Because the directions they gave me were just lame. But anways I found it. I got the Wii, plus an extra Wii remote & nun chuck, and picked up Zelda: Twilight Princess. ^_^

My epic journey for the Wii had come to an end. Funny that I had a similar epic journey/quest for the DS a few weeks ago. It's like whenever it comes to certain nintendo products, I have to end up going on some epic quest. I hope this isn't the case for future release titles. If that's the case, I'll make sure to reserve a damn copy.

From what I saw the only titles that really tickle my fancy is Mario Galaxies which comes out in April and ZOMG.. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles : The Chrystal Bearers in December! I sooo look forward to this game. I'm sure Wooko, Chris, & Pete will be down for some multiplayer FF:CC-fu. And before that the DS version of FF:CC will be coming out as well. I believe that's in May. So that will be fun to play too multiplayer, hopefully with the guys.

Ok so after getting the Wii in Auburn, I haul ass back to Lakewood, because by the time I go there, I figure my care should be done and I had to go get my mom to help me pick it up. And it's as if everything was falling into place. Exactly when I get off the exit to my work to get my mom, Lakewood Transmission calls me to tell me my car is done. Yay!

So I finally have my car! And oh how it works like it used to! So yay! Ran various errands aftwards and headed towards Kent to hang out with Jeremy for the weekend.

That evening watched Smoking Aces with Jeremy. It was a fun movie, IMO. Wasn't great or epic or ZOMG you have to watch this movie. A lot of funny moments and overall enjoyable.

Saturday, went to Seattle. First went to the international district to Uwajimayas. Ate some lunch and did some yummy asian snack shopping and got Hana Kimi 15 & Kare Kano 21 at Kinokuniya.

Then we headed to the Seattle Center to park there cuz it's cheap, and took the monorail to Pacific Place for window shopping. Heading to Pike's Place because there was a store near there called Swerves that a used CD/DVD place. Picked up Finding Nemo & Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, to replace my collection of movies because a so-called rat bastard ex boyfriend, *cough*Brien*cough*, took them from me. Got yummy gelato and went to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Co and got a caramel dipped apple with cinamon on it. It was muy delicioso when I ate it on Sunday. We then headead back to Pacific Place area, went to Borders to check out the books then ate dinner at Cheesecake Factory again. Couldn't help it, they have such yummy food. After that headed back to Seattle Center and went home.

So as we got home, we hooked up the Wii. And started playing Wii Sports.

OMG...

I am embarrassed to say, I am now sore from playing Wii Sports. From playing Boxing, Bowling, Tennis, & Baseball, I kinda over exerted myself with the swinging of my right arm. I think my lats and trapezius are the most sore right now. I'll have to make sure to stretch before I play Wii Sports again. LOL. But yeah I totally pwned Jeremy in Boxing, Tennis, and Bowling.

/flex

Sunday ran various errands at Walmart. Jeremy had his friends come over. We played some WoW TCG w/ the Onyxia Raid deck. We finally beat Onyxia, but we had to implement some house rules.

Anyways, it was a very busy and very fun-filled weekend. I just look forward to going home soon and playing some Wii, watching Samurai 7, & a brand new Heroes tonight! ^_^

the end of Kare Kano!

I just finished reading the last volume of Kare Kano

OMG. *tears* ; _ ;

Such a great manga series. I'm both happy and sad it's over. I enjoyed the ending, but there was one part that was so evil that made me yell out "OMGWTF!". I won't spoil is for you people, but I'm sure you know the part I'm reffering to.

So ends another manga series, and me wanting more. However, right now I'm on a current break from reading. Well I'm just taking my time now reading Eldest. My reading binges of late has exhausted me and also getting a Wii, makes me want to do other things with my spare time.

I also picked up Hana Kimi Vol. 15, so that should keep me occupied for no more than 30 mins. I should be done with it today, so Chris, let me know when you want it. We can swap the W-Juliets you have of mine for the next Hana Kimi.

zomg it's about time! ^_^

TGIF.

I cannot express how happy I am it's finally FRIDAY! I got paid today with my $900 bonus! Now on my epic quest for the Wii! So far I've called numerous Gamestops, EB Games, Target, Sears, Walmart, Fred Meyers, etc and no luck yet. However, on Sunday, apparently Walmart is having a sale on them. Supposively each Walmart is going to get 5 consoles each.

My plan of attack goes as follows:
I go on Saturday night to the Auburn Walmart at 10/11 because they are open 24 hours and wait for midnight to buy it. If that doesn't work..

I then go to the Covington Walmart that opens at 7 AM and wait in line at 5 AM.

I WANT TO HAVE A WII SO HELP ME LORD BUDDY CHRIST!

And finally..
My car is finally getting repaired & I should be able to pick it up today. After waiting for the stupid dumb ass part that was needed to be delivered by UPS from California, they get it in yesterday.. but wait..

THE FUCKING PART DIDN'T WORK WITH MY CAR! T_T >.< *twitch*

So they finally ordered a part directly from the dealership, which costs me an extra $200, but I don't care. I just want my car. And plus I'm on financing for like 4 years! But I plan on paying it off within the first 90 days because if I do that, I won't have to pay any interest. But yes.. if all goes well, my car should be done.

*begs/prays for it to work out*

So now, I'm happy. Very happy actually.

Yesterday, was the 6 month-a-versary for Jeremy and myself. We celebrated by going out to dinner. He surprised me by taking me out to Cheesecake Factory, one of my all time favorite restaurants. I've been wanting to go there for a very long time and everytime we plan on going, someone always comes up, but now we finally got to go.

Dinner was devine. For appetizers we had Buffalo Blasts. Imagine buffalo chicken goodness plus heaven in your mouth, you get Buffalo Blasts. Basically what they do is they chop up chicken breast and soak/cook it in buffalo sauce, then they wrap it up in a large won-ton type wrapper and then fry it. You then dip it in either blue cheese or buffalo sauce. Can you hear that? Yeah that's the sound of angels singing from above, because it's that good.

For the main course, I had the Thai Chicken w/ noodles in peanut sauce. OMG! SO GOOD. I could barely eat 1/4 of it, because they have such large portions, but oh I have a good lunch for today! ^_^

Then we had cheesecake to-go. I had the Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake, Jeremy, being a big peanut butter/cookie dough/chocolate lover, had the Peanut butter chocolate chip cookie dough cheesecake. WOW talk about a rich cake.

It was a great evening.

and to top it off...

He told me he loves me. He really and truly loves me. (yes sappy i know, deal w/ it :P)

But yeah. *SIGH* I am so happy. I haven't been this happy since, who knows when?

But YAY! FRIDAY! MONEY! CAR! LOVE!

I hope you all have a great Friday and weekend!

a whole week

A week.

Is the time that Lakewood Transmission will have had my car. ARGH!

So after many phone calls to them, trying to find out if UPS delivered my clutch kit, I come to find out that, UPS was supposed to deliver it this morning, however the truck that had my part, broke down.

THANK YOU IRONY! PLEASE LET ME BEND OVER MORE SO YOU CAN FURTHER INCREASE THE ANAL RAPAGE THAT HAS BEEN MY SHITTY WEEK!

So they should get the part later on today, however it will take 4 hours to work on my car, which means, yes ladies and gents, it should be done by tomorrow. Hypothetically. Knowing my recent luck, I have a feeling that something will come up to delay me from getting my car. I can't help but be so pessimistic.

However, I am trying my best to stay positive and have a small ray of hope inside of me, thinking that tomorrow will be better, my car will be finally done, I will get to see Jeremy, and I will see if we truly get our bonuses in our paycheck this Friday. Every Thursday before payday, we are able to see our paycheck stubs for our direct deposit, so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping to see it there. If my car is FINALLLY done by tomorrow and I know I will get my $950 bonus, then that will make up for all the stupid shite that has gone on this week.

If not...it can be the shit icing on the crap cake that this week has become.

hahah wikipedia rules

Ok from my last post, seeing how cool wikipedia is and how they had Kelaguen on it, I thought to myself, since they have Guamanian/Chamorro food, they should more than likely have Filipino food.

So I search for the basic flip stuff: pancit, lumpia, etc..

and OMG THEY HAVE A TON OF STUFF on Filipino dishes:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Filipino_cuisine

So Chris,

I know you read this, but I couldn't help but laugh at the article on Balut (along w/ pictures), cringe and Dinuguan, and smile at halo-halo! Ahh I miss home cooking! >.<

a little silver lining to my craptastic day

Still no word on whether or not the mechanics got the part it. >.< I'm getting beyond annoyed by this shite.

Oh btw on top of Questionable Content being blocked, you can add Chugworth and Loserz to that.

/MUTHA FUCKING WRISTS

I love Chugworth and Loserz, although I can see why it was blocked.

But to make my day a lot better, I totally forgot my father made Kelaguen (pronounced kel-a-gwin) last night and gave some to my mom to give to me.

To explain I found that wikipedia had an article on it. How freaking cool is that? But anyways it gives a brief description on it. However, my father doesn't use coconut, and I prefer it that way. He made my favorite, the chicken kind. And have found a pic on the internets to show what it looks like:

I am currently savoring each delectible bite as I type this. So that's probably one of the better notes of my day.

I'm just hoping that my car gets fixed, but seems more than likely it won't.

/sigh
/eats kelaguen

God, let this week get better

So yeah this week has been pretty damn shitty so far. Well it actually started last week, so I guess I can start from there.

So over the last few weeks, I've noticed the deterioration of performance of my car, specifically the acceleration. I was thinking.. "umm.. shit. is this my tranny or my clutch?" So last monday, MLK, my day off, I take it in to KIA to have them check, because I "thought" I had full coverage, bumper-to-bumper warranty. but apparently as I should have known, I do not. Everything but my clutch is pretty much covered. My clutch was/is only covered for the first year/12,0000 miles. Yeah my car is over 2 years old. So it happens that it was my clutch that needs replacing. And the Kia service center quotes me $1500 to replace it. WTF! T_T That's retarded! And I had to pay them $90 to tell me that. Fucking BS. So I pretty much bent over and took it.

But I did not let them fix my car. Fuck that. I knew I could find places WAY cheaper than the price they quoted me. Vultures. Fucking bastards. Anyways, so over the next few days, I'm calling car places, getting quotes. I finally get a quote I like from a place a coworker recommended to me. They quote me at around $600. So I tell them the part I needed so they can order it. So I take it in last Thursday and the part should have came in last Friday morning and should have been repaired by later that afternoon.

So I call Friday to check on the status. Apparently the clutch kit they ordered was the wrong one. It was for a different sized engine. WTF. I basically gave them the engine car info from the invoice I got from Kia. Yeah. They were wrong, Kia that is. So they had to order the part which was coming from California. And it would take 3 days to get there, so making that Tuesday be the earliest it would arrive. So I accept that fact, it was mistake on mine and kia's part for giving them the wrong specs of my car for the part that they needed to order.

Come Tuesday, I give them a call on Tuesday, and still no car part. They said they "should" have it by Wednesday. so I call them this morning, still no part yet, however it might arrive later on today. FACK FACK FACK FACK FACK! >,< I want my effing car. I hope to God that it comes in today and I can get my car back. I want my car before tomorrow because I don't want to use my parents car going up to Kent to see Jeremy and I will be going there tomorrow because it's our 6 month-aversary and he's taking me out to dinner and what not.

On top of my stupid car issues, I've been feeling under the weather. I've had a recent rash of headaches lately. And normally, I don't get headaches, so I've been drugging myself with aspirin and tylenol, and for some reason, yesterday, my headache would not go away. When I got home, I felt better and throughout the night, I was fine. When I wake up this morning I was feeling fine, but right when I get to work.. BAM.. headache. So yeah. I took some aspirin and that seems to be doing the trick. So, so far.. so good..

Another thing, last night, I was taking a nap in my recliner and I hear this weird sound from behind me. A dripping sound. Immeadiately I was like "Oh no...please not again"...

*Quick backstory*
About 2 months ago, similar situation, I was in my recliner taking a nap, and I hear a dripping/raining sound that was pretty loud. I go to investigate and apparently the vent in my bathroom was leaking..wait.. not leaking having a FUCKING DOWNPOUR! So I'm freaking out, trying to find towels and bowls to collect the water. I page maintenance and by the time they got there, the leaking stopped. Basically my upstairs neighbor took a late shower and a pipe burst which caused the leak. They fix it the next day..

So back to the main story, I heard a drip, fear rushing into my mind, I turn around, my sink was overflowing with water. I quickly get up and get all the towels I had to preven the water from spreading, however part of my carpet got wet. I then page maintenance and had to wait half and hour for them to come and fix it. And more than likely my upstairs neighbor had another late shower, I'm pretty sure they did because I heard the water pipes running. So yeah, it was late at night, around 10:30 getting my sink fixed. /sigh I'm getting really annoyed now at the water leaks going on in my apt. I called my apt. office and asked them to make sure there aren't any broken pipes, because I don't want this shit happening again, esp if I'm away for the weekend with my boyfriend or whatever. So hopefully they'll find out what's going on.

So yeah.. so far a pretty fucking shitty week. I want my fucking car fixed. My apartment is leaking and I've been getting headaches. All I am looking forward to is seeing Jeremy on Thursday so we can celebrate our monthaversary and this weekend of being with him and having it just "us" and not "us and his friends". Planning on going to Seattle and just hanging out, window shopping and various things. I hope the weather will be good..

/sigh.. one more day..

/sigh

So because I really don't have a lot of work to do today, I decided today is webcomic catch-up day. I'm like almost 2 weeks behind, so that gives me a lot to read.

So I go to one of my favorite webcomics Questionable Content. And lo' and behold, my work finally decides to block it. >.< FACK! T_T

Now my work had done this before in the past and the next day it's back up. So hopefully this is the case, however I'm not keeping my hopes up. I just hope my other webcomics aren't blocked..

/wrists.

btw long rant coming soon...

quick post

Thanks to jaberwockynmt at LJ. He helped me create a live syndicate feed of blogspot to LJ. ^_^

Thanks again!

But just wanted to say, so far I've read 200 pages in Eragon. Almost halfway done with the book and OMG I am in love! The book is just amazing. I find it just absolutely incredible such a young person can write such a wonderful story with good lore. The movie has barely done this book justice and there is just so much difference in the novel vs the movie, that the hollywood hacks have honestly done shame upon such a great book. BOO.

I also found a really good fansite to Eragon, even though it's not as updated as mugglenet.com is. The website is http://www.shurtugal.com/. I also noticed they have podcasts of it! And like Harry Potter, I will have to eagerly awaite and anticipate the final book. I believe I might have this book done by end of the week or early next week with the pace I'm going at and will definitely have to purchase Eldest ASAP.

Ok back to reading!

Books, Books, Books!

Lately over the last few months, I've actually started reading books. Books, not manga. Mind you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with manga. I love manga to death, however, I've been slacking on my manga because I just don't feel like reading them at the moment.

Over the last few months, I believe since September or October, I've read 4 books all at least 400 pages long. Specifically I've been reading the Harry Potter series. I'm positively in love with this series. I'm becoming more and more the HP fangirl everyday.

I borrowed the books from Jeremy, and first started reading Goblet of Fire, because I heard there are quite the number of differences in the book vs. the movie. It took me a while to finish the book, but I finished it. I then followed with book 5, Order of the Phoenix, by far the longest HP book, I believe hardback was like 900+ pages. I finished that book with in 9 days. It's by far my most favorite HP book and am eagerly anticipating the movie release this summer in July! I then followed with the most recent book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Very good book as well. I took my time with it and I think I finished it with in 2 weeks or so. I then went backwards and read Prisoner of Azkaban, because Jeremy informed me that that book was the most different vs the movie, and I would have to agree. I enjoyed reading the book more than the movie and am quite upset how different the movie was and the changes they made.

Eventually I'll read books 1 & 2, Sorcerer's Stone & Chamber of Secrets, but that's after I finished reading a few other books, which I'll mention later.

In addition to my HP fangirlism of reading the books, I'm also addicted to the fan based HP Podcasts. Mainly the one from http://www.mugglecast.com (mugglenet.com). I've listened to 20+ of their podcasts and am getting the earlier episodes that I've missed. They are about an hour long type talk shows of these Potter fans around the world and they discuss theories, opinions, discussions and debates about elements of the books, future books, and what the upcoming movies might bring. Yes very geeky stuff, and I'm damn proud of it! Listening to this podcast has kept me amused many times during the day as I work. I also recently downloaded another Harry Potter podcast and it's pretty decent and found more stuff to keep me entertained during the day! I need to find more podcasts like this. It's refreshing listening to "talk radio" at times vs music during the day.

Currently the new book I'm reading is Eragon. Yeah, the book that was recently made into a movie. Jeremy and I watched the movie, intrigued because it's a fantasy type movie and nothing is cool like a movie about dragons! ^_^ The movie was pretty decent, at times I feel the plot was rushed and not enough character development of the main character, Eragon and the relationship of him and other characters, still overall, enjoyable.

Jeremy and I both picked up our own copy, because we figured, they are going to make a sequel of this movie, because the book series is a trilogy, and it would be cool to see what happens next. Also the author, Christopher Paolini, wrote this book at the age of nineteen. NINETEEN! Geez. That's pretty amazing for a best seller. Anyways I'm currently 1/4 way through the book and already I enjoy the book more than the movie. Many differences from the movie and hope that as I read further, I find out that they butchered the movie vs the book. But definitely a very enjoyable book. Currently Jeremy and I are kinda on a race to see who finishes the book first and I'm ahead of him by far, but then again he hasn't really started reading, but he's a fairly fast reader vs me, so I guess over the next few days I will be reading a lot.

But yeah, I'm on a current binge of reading books. I already have half the year planned on my reading. After I finish reading Eragon, I'm gonna pick up the sequen, Eldest. Then I'll read books 1 & 2 of Harry Potter, then reread Order of the Phoenix before the movie comes out and reread Half-Blood Prince, because it's very highly speculated that the final Harry Potter book, Deathly Hallows is coming out early July and I want to have the story fresh in my head. After that I might get into the Dan Brown series. He's more commonly known for his book, The Da Vinci Code. I might read the Da Vinci Code, but I've seen the movie and I'm not sure if I want to read that book, however there is a prequel called Angels & Demons, that Jeremy raves is great. So another book to add to the list.

So yeah, books. Reading. I'm honestly very impressed with myself from my recent addiction to reading books. It feels very refreshing reading books and enjoying them and doing something different vs playing video games or WoW. From all the reading, I can honestly say I've read more in the past few months than I possibly read in all of high school.

I can only hope I find more books down the road that will keep my interest in reading.

More snow, more debt

Yes it's snowing again. It's snowing pretty damn fast, not big flakes, but fast and hard enough to make a difference. Just when the roads were getting pretty clear and the ice was melting, it decides to snow again. Man I don't remember it being this bad for a long time. Snow never seems to last where I am at in Washington, however, this year is an exception. Snow is definitely for kids. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of being cold.

However pretty it can be, to me it's just not worth it.

Well on more bad news, it seems I have to replace the clutch in my car. Me, thinking I had full coverage/warranty on my car, took it to the dealership to get it checked. Initially I thought it was my transmission going out, but it appears to be the clutch. Unfortunately my clutch was only covered for the first year. /sigh

They quoted me at a price of a whopping $1400 to fix the fucking thing! Right. I was like, umm.. no, I'll just shop around, however I had to pay them $90 for inspecting it for like 30 mins. What a rip-off. I'm very angry at that fact. So I did some shopping around and found better quotes at around $700. So yeah, I need muster up money for that. /sigh

I was gonna use my saved money to buy a Wii, but alas, that will have to wait. ; _ ;

So all in all a pretty shitty start for the new year still.

Bah.
